Still Struggling

Update posted 5 years ago

Hi all, sorry for such a delay between updates.

The leave that he wanted to be approved for ended up not happening because we misunderstood how the medical leave works. We somehow thought for a more long-term period of time, it would compensate us, but it doesn't.

We never got to go back to the chiropractor for the treatments through them and we didn't start any pain specialists again because absolutely nobody has bothered to get back to us. Despite calling and pestering them, nobody bothered.

We were finally able to go see the original spine surgeon again for a follow up, since in the last month his pain has shifted from his legs and feet to just his right thigh and hip.

Basically the surgeon said if he wasn't experiencing pain in his legs any more, especially not down the back like before, there was no reason for any kind of surgery. The pain in his thigh would not be caused by a herniated disk. He said it was possible the disk fixed itself.

So, good news no surgery. Bad news, he's still in constant, often excruciating pain. We've scheduked another MRI on Christmas Eve day, and we're hoping that provides answers. The surgeon wanted it done of his upper back now, just to be sure.

He and I are exhausted and we're still struggling with money like no tomorrow.

Please, anything will help get us through the season.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us so far.

Much love,

Heather✨

Hi there! My name is Heather. To get right to the point, I'm raising money to help my fiancé and I stay on our feet. We're currently facing financial difficulties due to our car needing sudden repairs not once but twice in the span of less than a month, totaling well over three-thousand dollars. My fiancé is currently suffering from a herniated disk in his low back which is causing him excrutiating pain 24/7. His disk has been like that since the end of March/beginning of April, but was not dicovered for what it actually is until about August.

During this time he has continued to work out of necessity, and unfortunately it is only getting worse as time goes on. We are on the last leg of conservative treatment before we consider surgery.

The next step to help him is getting him in pysical therapy for two consecutive weeks, six times a week. The problem with that is the cost of the sessions and since just the 1st of November, the repair costs of the car, our only means of transportation.

My fiancé is a registered nurse, an army veteran, and an all-around amazing human being, and does not deserve to be in such excrutiating back and feet pain all the time.

We are struggling enough that it feels as if our world is crumbling down around us. We have no extra funds, as we spent them on the first repair (a misaligned axl). The second repair (a cracked radiator and an electrical failure of the gear shift) as of the 1st of November has drained us literally dry. We had to take out a loan to meet repair costs and pool our remaining money together, and we're still short.

The money raised will help ease our cost of living, helping to pay back the loan of about 800$, and medical bills.

He has never asked for a penny from someone in his life and is ALWAYS insisting I don't need to help with bills, no matter how many times I insist and then do so.

If you can spare a few dollars to help ease the burden, please do so. We are so desparate and need all the help we can get. Thank you for looking and if you have questions, please ask me.
