The Kosse Heritage Society, a 501 (3)(c) exempt organization was organized in 1979 and is located at the Kosse Heritage House on Hwy 14 just south of Hwy 7 in Kosse, Texas.  It serves as Kosse's museum and as a tribute to the history of our "Little Town with a Big Heart".

The house features four historical rooms. Over the years many items such as period furniture, photographs, art, and historical documents have been donated to the old home.

The Heritage House also features a "Kosse Hall of Fame" in which local people are commemorated for their great accomplishments and volunteer work in the Kosse community. The Heritage House is maintained by donations and volunteer work. Annual fundraising events are held each year.

The Kosse Heritage Society acquired the historic Hearne-Gidden House in May 2014. Completed in 1894, the house is one of the last remaining Victorian influenced homes in central Texas.  Restoration assessments are underway with the assistance of members of Preservation Texas to insure accuracy in the restoration.

We need your help!  Initial estimates are that total project costs will be in the neighborhood of $150,000. Please consider making a donation to preserve a historic Texas landmark.  Read all about the history and plans for restoration of the Hearne-Gidden House.
