$30,000 Goal

The HELP Center operates the largest PrEP program in North Texas with more than 4,000 clients. The HELP Center is the only clinic in the nation that provides access to PrEP services FREE of charge. There is never a cost to see the provider, for labs or for medication whether you have insurance or not. The HELP Center opened it's new 15,000 square foot Fort Worth Center in May 2020. The new facility is located in the medical district and is the organizational headquarters. In December 2021, HELP opened its new 7,000 Square foot building in the heart of downtown Arlington.  Both locations provide clinical, prevention and counseling services as well as a community space for meetings, seminars and education programs.

Our Needs

The HELP Center is seeking additional support for our PrEP clinic programming and counseling services. PrEP Is the most powerful tool we have had to prevent transmission of HIV and the HELP Center is committed to increasing access to PrEP in North Texas. Our specific areas of need this funding will support are PrEP for college students who are on their parents insurance but not yet able to be "out" to their parents. Funds will also go to support our new counseling services for individuals who are transitioning, youth that are coming out and parents of youth who are transitioning and/or coming out.

Mission

To promote health and prevent disease through innovative, accessible and comprehensive health programming.

Equity Statement

The HELP Center for LGBT Health & Wellness's mission is to enhance health and prevent disease by connecting marginalized populations with innovative, accessible, and comprehensive health care and wellness programming. As health care experts in the LGBT world, HELP is committed to advancing racial and economic justice locally and globally through our work.

Disparate access to health care is a global issue. Low-income communities, particularly those of color, wherever they are located, are disproportionately impacted by financial, social, and structural barriers.

Through core values of diversity and inclusion, HELP strives to achieve the justice of unhindered, equal access to healthcare for all people, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic stratification, geographical location, or any other ostensibly "defining" characteristic.
