Old Dogs New Digs

A nonprofit organization

We help senior and special needs animals who are in shelters or who need to be rehomed by providing foster homes, social media networking, supplies and veterinary care for them. Our community assistance program helps keep animals in their loving homes by providing quality food and medical care.

Testimonials

We are a network of volunteers who have made connections with animal shelters and dog rescues - mostly in Maine, Colorado, New Mexico, and Costa Rica. When we learn of a senior dog in need, whether it's help with placement in a foster or forever home, financial assistance with vet care, or to help offset the cost of special food or medications, we spring into action! Our community assistance program assists those who have fallen on hard times, unable to afford quality food and medical care for their aging dog, so the dog doesn't have to leave the home. Old Dogs New Digs is not a shelter - we aim to keep senior dogs out of the shelter environment. So, we assist shelters and rescues with finding short- and long- term foster homes, as well as hospice homes for dogs who are at the end of their lives.

Mission

Old Dogs New Digs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, comprised of volunteers, dedicated to helping homeless and displaced senior dogs. We partner closely with shelters and rescues, who have ownership of the dog, to assist with getting the dog into a loving foster or forever home. 100% of the funds we raise support the health and well-being of these dogs.

Background Statement

Old Dogs New Digs was started in July 2016 in Maine and since then has expanded to Colorado in 2021. Old Dogs New Digs has started getting homes for senior cats and small animals in additions to dogs.
