Harlem and Bronx Pre-K’s Have a College Dream!

Gail Davis founded Urban Concepts/Round the Clock Nursery (RCN) 23 years ago in a Central Harlem apartment.   She had the dream to make a change in her community by providing outstanding childcare and early education to foster the future success of her scholars, far beyond Pre-K. She strongly, and rightfully so, believes success starts before a child can walk. Over the years, RCN has become a highly sought-after program, and it has expanded to three locations in Harlem and one in the Bronx.  Since 1997, RCN has been providing students with a rich and diverse learning environment. RCN’s unparalleled teaching methods help to launch students into the successful future they always dreamed of having.

Mrs. Davis proudly states, “RCN is committed to supporting, loving, caring for, developing, and teaching the children entrusted to us—always putting their needs first. Every child is unique, and we believe in respecting the diversity of families, cultures, languages, and traditions of the children of Round the Clock Nursery. Our curriculum encourages child-initiated activities to promote a sense of independence with the belief that gives children a sense of worth. Every room in each day care center has the name of a prestigious university or college. We want all students to know that they can achieve their college dreams, and we are here to help.”

To further support and encourage RCN’s highest-achieving Pre-K graduates as they continue their education, and to track their progress over the years, Mrs. Davis will award 529 scholarships.  These gifts, which can only be accessed after they graduate from high school, will be used for their college education. RCN is proud to report that 85 graduates have already been promised college scholarships.
