Bamboo Bridges

Bamboo Bridges is a non-profit organization that bridges the multi-ethnic, multilingual, and multi-generational Asian Pacific American community by developing collaborations and building awareness of the issues that APA women confront in their lives, families, and communities.

Asian Pacific American women experience domestic violence with at least the same frequency as non-Asian women, with some APA ethnic groups having higher rates.  Additionally, fatalities resulting from domestic violence are higher in APA communities due in part to cultural and linguistic barriers.  Bamboo Bridges is committed to breaking the silence that kills and keeps women trapped in violent relationships.

Asian Pacific American women represent the largest segment of persons trafficked into the United States, and Las Vegas has been identified as being among the top 17 destination cities for human trafficking, which makes it crucial that the Asian and Pacific American community be included in long-term strategies that address the issue of  human trafficking.
