In the face of adversity, heroes emerge, and in Texas, we are privileged to have countless heroes who have served our nation with unwavering bravery and dedication. These heroes, our veterans and first responders, often bear the invisible scars of their service, sometimes requiring assistance in their everyday lives. Caddo K9 Academy, a remarkable non-profit organization based in Caddo Mills Texas, stands as a beacon of hope for these heroes, providing them with trained service dogs and Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) at no cost to the recipients.

Through their on-site selective breeding program, the academy's mission is twofold. Firstly, through their onsite selective breeding program, they train and place mobility assistance and medical alert service dogs with disabled veterans and first responders. These dogs are specifically trained to detect imminent seizures up to 3 minutes before any visible indications manifest, a critical task that can significantly improve the quality of life for those living with this medical condition. Secondly, through their suicide prevention initiative the academy provides ESA puppies to individuals struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). These animals serve as a lifeline, offering comfort, companionship, and therapeutic benefits that help our heroes navigate the daily challenges they face due to their traumatic experiences.

The work of Caddo K9 Academy is transformative, offering a unique blend of companionship and practical assistance to those who have given so much in service to our country and communities. However, this life-changing work is not without its challenges. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the academy relies entirely on private donations. Breeding, training, and maintaining these exceptional dogs is a costly and time-consuming endeavor, one that the founders cannot continue to finance alone.

The academy is currently in dire need of additional resources to continue its noble work. Funding is required for additional staff and trainers, improving containment fencing, expanding kennel space, and providing routine preventative medical treatments for the dogs. These enhancements will ensure that the academy can continue to provide these invaluable companions to our heroes efficiently and effectively.

The call to action is clear: we must stand with our heroes and support the incredible work of Caddo K9 Academy. By contributing to this cause, we can help ensure that these invaluable companions continue to be available to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation. This is not just a donation; it is an investment in the wellbeing of our heroes, a tangible way to say thank you for their service and sacrifice.

Supporting the brave men and women that have given so much to our country and communities is not merely a charitable act, but a moral imperative. It is about recognizing the sacrifices made by our veterans and first responders and offering them a lifeline when they need it most. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of our nation's heroes. Donate today and join the cause. Your contribution could change a life.

Giving Activity

Mission

At Caddo K9 Academy, our primary objective is to provide trained service dogs to disabled veterans and first responders who require mobility assistance or need alerting for seizures or diabetes. We also specialize in providing PTSD emotional support animals (ESAs). We are committed to offering these services at no cost to the recipients, ensuring these heroes have the support they need without any financial burden.

Needs

As a newly formed 501(c)(3) we are entirely dependent on public donations to fund the day-to-day operational costs of our selective breeding and training programs. Your generous contribution will enable us to hire additional experienced staff and upgrade the electrical service to our indoor training pavilion so that it will support a heating and cooling system that will greatly improve our ability to train during inclement weather.

Equity Statement

Caddo K9 Academy is committed to fostering an equitable environment in the identification and selection of disabled candidates for service dog placement. We believe in providing equal opportunities to all individuals, irrespective of their physical or cognitive disabilities. Our selection process is designed to prioritize the needs of the candidate while ensuring the suitability of the service dog to the individual's specific requirements. We strive to uphold the principles of fairness, inclusivity, and respect, thereby promoting a just and unbiased service dog placement process.
